this four track ep kicks off with cladistic mutation , a sparse underwater soundtrack with only the gentlest suggestion of rhythm, lots of reverb and tiny little details that float by like micro-bacterial debris. m2 is a more beat driven dub track but is still way below the surface: the kicks are smooth and hunched over, the chords are smeared out in all directions and the atmosphere is lo-fi and grainy. on the flip, grain gets even more energetic, with firm techno kick drums setting a stern tempo as all sorts of aqueous details and spacious effec ts peppe r the groove. there s a heavenly nature to the pads and an industrial texture to the percussion that makes this a cerebral but physical affair from start to finish. lastly, neurowaves closes things down in blissfully dubbed out and horizontal fashion, with large sweeping pads, tweaked filters and evocative little details all placing you firmly under water.

12 releases strong already, a:rpia:r has been silent for the last 2 years, since petre inspirescus gradina onirica hit the shelves of your favourite record shop. it is now rareshs turn to release something special and indeed he did. vivaltu is an old gem, a subtle uplifting track driven by a powerful resonator, perfect for that special moment. the male mumbling voices provide the track with that extra eclectic feel. this is in fact rareshs only track on vivaltu ep, the rest are remixes. side b presents a minimal house interpretation remix by none other than chilean legend and friend, ricardo villalobos. the resonator is still here but in come some childish voices to make it all perfect. perfect for the dancefloor. side c brings forward another member of the a:rpia:r family, none other than contemporary wizard petre inspirescu. his take has a very cinematic approach, building and building for 4 minutes before the kick even starts. the rich percussive atmosphere is completed with a brilliant melody reminiscent of his classical experiments. this track is an absolute masterpiece ! aloe varu is the third chosen for this remix pack and indeed he was chosen wise. his stripped down remix spans for 13 minutes and completes the story of a:rpia:r 13.

today we once again celebrate the coming together of two of technos most legendary and respected figures for the next installment of their much lauded elements series - oliver huntemann & dubfire. as the series name alludes, aire is a track that harnesses elements from the previous brace of tracks and brings them together whilst adding a fresh touch of flair. irelands matador takes on the remix task, delivering two contrasting new versions. his beautifully deep dub mix is an understated, smooth and wondrous excursion while his main mix throws down its earth-moving kick drum throughout as he allows the original atmospherics and fx to playfully pierce the production.

it s a big honor that the former member and -minister of information- of underground resistance from detroit alan oldham aka dj t-1000 does a remix for this release. living between berlin and detroit, alan is a mastermind in electronic music and has pitched this track to a strong minimal -detroit meets berlin- version. the gunman remix is a more dramatic sub bass story. with snipped parts of the sigrid elliot vocals, a volumized organ and fx sounds, gunman gives you a blast for the dancefloor peak time. simon beeston, a music lover from new zealand who s also living in berlin, does a deep remix. with drums and a nice sub bass, he s showing his style.

our next big release at bad barbie, going out on digital and 12 inch, comes by the hand of aldo cadiz itself, but this time partnered with kareem cali. these two made a fantastic three track ep called monita ep. the first track monita presents a solid base created with a classic tech style and an extremely groovy bass line. full of small arrangements and a crazy vocal line, this tracks its perfect for any club dj. the second track bonita, is the one with the more old school vibe, from the bass line to the main acid synth, which goes evolving softly with a filter during the track to generate the needed tension. all this with a strong tech groove to follow the step of this solid ambience created by the acid synths. the last track moni, also has many techno and acid elements presents. we can perceive the techno soul mainly on the arrangement of the hi-hats and bass line, but the acid synth in triplet at the backend is what generates the crazy vibe and almost hypnotic feeling during the track, playing around with the volume of it. definitely a fantastic release to add to any collection.
